Benefits
Some more of the benefits you gain from using LED lighting
Lifespan
Our LED’s last a minimum of 30 000 hours this is 30 times longer than the majority of Halogen light bulbs (at 1000hr life). If used for 12 hours a day all year our LED bulbs will last a minimum of 6 and ¾ years, whilst most halogen bulbs will last less than ½ a year. This means for every 13 halogen bulbs purchased you will only need one Seibu UK LED, therefore reducing expenditure on bulbs, and maintenance, as well as giving you one less thing to worry about in your busy day!
Slow failure rate
Seibu LED bulbs are normally made up of a number of small LED’s, which have a minimum lifespan of 30 000 hours each, therefore LED’s do burn out but they normally dim over time (after the 30 000 hour period) rather than abruptly failing like traditional bulb types (most filament, halogen and incandescent).so they may last for years after the minimum lifespan!
Cost Saving
Seibu LED’s run on between 80% and 95% less energy than standard halogen bulbs, this equates to massive (80-95%) savings on your lighting energy bills per year. Lighting energy expenditure can equate up to 50% of your yearly electricity bill.
Efficiency
Seibu LED’s produce more light output per watt than incandescent bulbs.
Colours
LED’s can emit a large range of coloured light, without the need for colour filters (which are used in traditional lighting types); this makes LED’s less costly and more efficient.
Dimensions
LED’s are very small so products can be made up of a number of them, increasing light emitted, and meaning a large range of traditional bulb replacements are available, with the specific light output you require.
Switch on/off
LED’s light up more or less instantaneously with no ‘warm up time’, unlike the incandescent (mercury) energy saving bulbs.
Dimming
Seibu UK LED’s are almost all dimmable, there are 2 methods –lowing the forward current or through using pulse-width modulation.
Low heat emitted
LED’s radiate very little heat (IR) due to their low wattage so are considered a much lower fire risk, as well as reducing damage to fabric and sensitive objects from infra-red radiation.
Shock resistance
LED’s are much less prone to break or become damaged from external shock due to comprising of solid state components, traditional bulb types are much more delicate.
Non- toxic
If an LED was broken it would not release any harmful substances unlike fluorescent and halogen bulbs which emit toxic chemicals if broken. Therefore LED’s also decrease risk to the consumer’s health, especially important around the family!
Light Focus
LED casings can be design to focus the LED’s light, without the need for external refractors to direct the light. Making them the ideal for spotlighting, downlights, display lighting etc. (our GU10’s, MR16’s and PAR series are ideal for this application). This means the product can be more compact than the traditional bulbs when creating the same or even better lighting effect.
